FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why is Hawaii the only place to get this water?
Hawaii is unique for two reasons.
- --- For the most part, these ancient waters are so
deep (thousands of meters) that it cannot be accessed by conventional
means. It travels on the deepest floor of the world's oceans,
out of reach. Near Hawaii though an event called upwelling
occurs. As the deep sea current approaches Hawaii it starts to
come closer to the surface as it glides around these remote
islands. It comes close enough to the surface that the extremely
deep pumping station at NELHA (Natural Energy Laboratories of Hawaiian
Authority) on the big island of Hawaii near Kona can tap into it at the
extraordinary depth of 1000 meters. Contrary to a similar
upwelling of this current in the Indian Ocean, the surrounding waters
of Hawaii are remote, unpolluted and many centuries older.
- --- Secondly, Hawaii
is unique because of its geological structure. The islands are
the tips of massive undersea volcanoes that plunge at a very steep
angle into the fantastic depths of the Pacific Ocean. This allows
the pipeline to extend very deeply while not being too far from
shore. If it were not for this steep shoreline it would not be
economically feasible to attempt to reach this depth of 1000
meters. Other countries might wish to extract water from so deep
a source but their continental shelves make it impossible. They
can only extract from the shallow areas and with shallow water comes
pollution and contamination.
How do we know the water is indeed older than 1000 years?
---
It is well known and documented by the scientific community that deep
ocean currents do not mix. The different densities and
temperatures of these currents effectively isolate them from one
another and the rest of the ocean in general. The deepest
currents are the coldest and most salty. There is a miniscule
amount of mixing that occurs near the extreme edges of these currents
but the adjacent water is also very deep and isolated in its own right.
The net effect is a very stable current of water that is
untouched by the outside world and has remained so for centuries.
Since the current moves so slowly and the water is so old there
is great confidence it does not contain any trace of the modern
industrial pollutants that plague so many other global water sources.
Scientific data from a variety of sources has put this water's
age somewhere between 1200 and 2000 years.
How do we know the water we buy is really this Hawaiian Deep Sea Water?
---
We live in a world of imitation and knockoffs. No company or
product is immune to this corporate form of theft. To combat
this problem the governmental body that strictly controls access to
this resource (NELHA) has trademarked its logo and only bottlers that
are officially recognized and sanctioned by NELHA can put this logo on
their product and claim it to be 100% Hawaiian Deep Sea Water.
You must not only look for this label but also know that only trusted
distributors have access to this resource. Look for a name brand
you trust delivered by people you trust.
What is in this water?
---
There are no additives of any kind in this water. Mother Nature
has fortified it naturally with six mineral and dozens of trace
minerals. Scientific analysis has identified more than 70 trace
minerals in seawater. Trace minerals are necessary for normal
growth and health but the exact amount needed have not been determined.
Suffice it to say the chemical makeup of seawater is amazingly
similar to the chemical makeup of the blood in our bodies. Our
reverse osmosis desalination process gently removes only the excess
salt from this water to yield a mineral rich and naturally refreshing
drink that we can all use in confidence.
